Race Equipment Checklist: Mountain Bike Racing
I naturally recall my very first mountain bike race. When I showed up, and was about to change into my cycling gear, I suddenly noticed that I hadn’t packed my clothes! Just kidding. Though the reason I remembered them is that I had a checklist of each thing I would require.I decided to put this list online, as I don’t ever want you to forget anything.
You should print out a hard copy and have it handy by your mountainbike equipment so you can check off everything aspack it in your car. If you are preparing for your first race, or your seventy-first, better safe than sorry.
CHECKLIST, including your mountain bike.
- Light (for 24 hour races)
- Energy gel or bar
- Post-race food and water
- Water bottle (filled)
- Helmet
- Change of clothes
- CamelBak or Seat bag- (containg; spare tube, tire levers, mini-pump, mini-tool, patch kit)
- First-aid kit
- Sunglasses
- Towel and Baby wipes
- Bike lock
- Shoes with cleats, and socks
- Registration form and/or license
- Camera or Camcorder
- Jersey, shorts and gloves
