Rock Shox

Rock shox pike wheel removal?
I have a rock shox pike and I cannot get the front wheel off. Everything says it very simple, but I cannot figure out how to remove the wheel from the fork.
I have a pike and it is a great fork. what works for me is the following: leave the quick release lever in the closed position (closed position is for the actual tightening of the wheel) and turn it counter clockwise to until the Maxle starts to unscrew. once it starts to spin and it seems like it wont unscrew anymore. flip the quick release to the open position (open position is for just securing the wheel on the fork) and continue to turn counter clockwise. at some point it will become unlocked. keep an eye on it. then pull the whole axle out. It sounds like the Maxle was way over tightened. Just get a good grip and turn counter clockwise as best as you can.
The Maxle is pretty sweet and simple. but at the same time it can be super frustrating because of issues like taking the axle out.
